Terms of use

The Challenges app helps runners discover, plan and follow running and trail events in Belgium. It lets you save favourites and entries, receive reminders, and see which races your friends are taking part in.

These terms of use govern access to and use of the Challenges app. By using the app, the user fully accepts these terms.

Access to the features of the app requires the creation of a user account.

When registering, the user creates an account with an email address and a password, or through their Google account, and chooses a username.

The app is intended for people aged 16 or over. Children’s races are listed for information purposes, for parents.

The app is not accessible without an account, except for certain event pages reachable through a sharing link.

The user is solely responsible for keeping their credentials confidential.

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy policy.

Users undertake to:

• not impersonate anyone else;
• not publish inappropriate or offensive content, or content contrary to the sporting spirit of the platform;
• use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes, unless Challenges explicitly agrees otherwise;
• respect the other members of the community.

Challenges reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that does not respect these rules.

Challenges acts as an aggregator of sports information. The app lists events organised by third parties, with no contractual link to them.

Although we do our best to keep information up to date (dates, locations, distances, times…), its accuracy cannot be guaranteed 100 %. Each user must check the information directly with the official organiser of the event.

To the extent permitted by law, Challenges cannot be held liable for:

• the cancellation or modification of an event;
• a dispute between a user and an organiser;
• errors or omissions in the information displayed;
• injuries, physical damage or incidents occurring before, during or after an event, even one listed in the app.

Users take part in the listed events, and prepare for them (training, travel…), under their own responsibility.

All visual, textual or functional elements of the Challenges app (logo, interface, databases, etc.) are protected by Belgian intellectual property law. Users undertake not to copy, modify, reproduce or exploit all or part of the app without authorisation.

Content added by users (profile picture, bio, event suggestions) remains their property, but may be used by Challenges within the platform.

Challenges reserves the right to suspend or delete any account in the event of:

• fraudulent or abusive use;
• failure to comply with these terms;
• inappropriate behaviour reported by other users.

Any form of harassment or sharing of hateful, threatening, discriminatory or illegal content may lead to suspension or deletion of the account, without notice.

Users may at any time request the deletion of their account through the “Delete my account” button in the settings, or by email at info@challengesbelgium.com.

These terms may be updated at any time. In case of a significant change, users will be informed through the app. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Challenges reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the app or its features at any time, without notice.

These terms are governed by Belgian law. In case of dispute, the Belgian courts alone have jurisdiction.
